Description

One of the employment policies which the Government attaches importance to is to promote employment of older workers aged between 60 and 65. These workers have been employed mainly by the small-scale and medium-sized enterprises. However, decline of employment in this regard is anticipated owing to technological innovations and fierce competition. "Logic of Community" survives among employees including youngsters, and this has contributed to promoting particular but humane type of measures for aged persons, different from big enterprises. But "Logic of Efficiency", it seems, gradually pervades, and surpasses "Logic of Community". This article aims at clarifying the recent trends by way of pigeonholing existing data, while seasoning it with a fiels research conducted in August, 1986.
