This paper examined "Community Information Magazine WAGO" published by a community hall in Shonai Town, Yamagata Prefecture.\nSpecifically, the following two points were examined. The first point is why the name of the magazine was changed to "WAGO" instead of "HONAMI". The second point is that even if the name of the magazine changes, the number of magazines is inherited.\nBased on the towns and villages merger process that Shonai Town follows, we examined these.\nTherefore, this paper is also an attempt to examine the community media in the context of the local community.
