Description

P(論文)

The purpose of this paper is to show the properties of a subordinate clause containing “TOKORO” compared with one containing “NO”. In comparison with “NO”, which identifies a physical object, TOKORO focuses on a particular condition of an object. The sentence with TOKORO is interpreted as “observing the object and waiting an adequate time for the action to be realized”. This is dependent upon the meaning of the noun TOKORO, the lexical meaning of the main verb, the function of noun modifier and the situation described in the subordinate clause.
