Abstract

type:Article

There are limited studies that refer to the connection of emotion regulation and the hypothesis regarding color perception on the Rorschach Inkblot Method (RIM). A comprehensive review of the literature on the cognitive control of emotion suggests that immediacy and passivity of color perception described by Schachtel (l965) is linked to attentional control. Recently, numerous researchers have begun investigating the neural basis of the RIM. In addition, pareidolia and bistable perception studies of cognitive neuroscience have demonstrated empirical implications for such research. The present study explores the points of contact with neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and existing knowledge of the RIM instead of emphasizing the qualitative and idiographic aspects of the RIM.
