要旨 : 　本研究は青年期における自己意識(感覚，感情など， 自己の内的側面に注意を向ける傾向である私的自己意識と，自己の容貌，言動など，自己の外的側面に注意を向ける傾向である公的自己意識から成る性格要因)と対人恐怖心性との関係を数量的に検討することを目的とした。高校生256名(男子103名，女子153名)，大学生271名(男子108名，女子163名)を対象に両概念を測定する質問紙尺度を実施した。統計分析の結果，高校生男子は公的自己意識が概ね対人恐怖心性と無相関であった。すなわち，高校生男子では公的自己意識が必ずしも対人恐怖心性(特に対人恐怖的行動)と関連をもたないことが明らかにされた。しかし，高校生女子と大学生では公的自己意識が対人恐怖心性と有意な正の相関を示し両者の密接な関連性が示唆された。また，大学生では認められなかったが，高校生の私的自己意識は対人恐怖の自意識過剰性と有意な正の相関を示した。両者の関連については，私的自己意識の一側面である，心身の内的感覚や存在感覚に注意を向ける傾向と対人恐怖心性との関連という観点から考察された。　Summary : 　The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-consciousness (public and private consciousness) and anthrophobic tendency in adolescents. ”The self-consciousness scale” measuring public and private consciousness and ”The inventory of negative self-awareness in interpersonal relationships” measuring anthrophobic tendency were administered to 256 senior high school students and 271 college students. The results showed that for female senior high school students and college students, public consciousness and anthrophobic tendency correlated positively, while there was an uncorrelativeness for male senior high school students, and for high school students, private consciousness and part of anthrophobic tendency correlated positively, while there was an uncorrelativeness for college students. These results suggested self-consciousness was partial1y related to anthrophobic tendency.
