Description
In the previous paper, the effects of curvature on the turbulence structures of bent-over non-buoyant jets were reported. In this paper, an experimental study of two-dimensional bent-over buoyant jets which are characterized by a component of buoyancy normal to the flow direction is reported. The experiments were conducted in a hydraulic flume using Laser-Doppler Velo-cimetry (LDV) and resistance thermometrv. Storing curvature of the jet streamline was found only at the initial part of the jet’s development and the trajectories of the maximum velocity points are straightlined for the rest of the jet's development. A component of buoyancy normal to the jet’s centerline was found to case strong effects the mean and turbulence properties of the inclined jets.
