目的:本研究は高齢者の学習活動と健康度の関係に着目し、地域の在宅高齢者に対し参加型学習活動という役割を設定することにより、それが及ぼす健康度やQOLへの効果について実証することを目的とした方法:北海道今金町Y町内会住民を対象に、高齢者への役割設定を目的としたワークショップ実施後、町内会の在宅高齢者に対して学習活動を設定した。その後、町内会の学習活動に参加した高齢者23名と、参加しなかった高齢者との間で、IADL、GDS、QOLに関する指標や主観的健康度、生活充実度を比較した。結果:学習活動に参加した高齢者のIADL得点やQOL得点が上昇し、不参加の高齢者との差が有意なものとなった。またGDS得点は不参加の高齢者が増え、参加した高齢者ではほとんど変化が見られなかった。主観的な健康度や生活充実度についても、参加した高齢者は肯定的な評価が多く、参加しなかった高齢者は否定的な評価が多くなり、その得点差は有意なものとなった。結論:地域の在宅高齢者に対する参加型学習活動の設定は、高齢者の健康度やQOLを維持向上させることが示唆された。

Purpose: This study focuses on the relationship between learning activities and the health of the elderly and was designed to demonstrate the effects of purpose for living on health and QOL Quality of Life by providing elderly persons within the community with participatory learning activities.Method: The subjects of this study were residents of Y in Imakane-cho, Hokkaido, where a workshop was held to provide the elderly with a purpose, after which the elderly living in the neighborhood were given the opportunity to participate in learning activities. Afterwards, the indices for IADL Instrumental Activity of Daily Living , GDS(Geriatric Depression Scale), and QOL, subjective health reviews, and fullness of life reviews were collected from 23 elderly persons who participated in the neighborhood learning activities and 23 elderly persons who did not participate in such activities.Results: The IADL and QOL scores rose for subjects who participated in the learning activities, and there was a significant difference from the scores of subjects who did not participate in the activities. GDS scores rose for non-participating subjects while there was no change for participating subjects. In both the subjective health performance reviews and fullness of life reviews, subjects participating in learning activities had a higher number of positive evaluations, while subjects who did not participate in such activities had a higher number of negative evaluations, and there was a significant difference in the scores of the two groups.Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that providing participatory learning activities for elderly persons can help to maintain and improve health and QOL of elderly persons living in the community
