抄録

A red tide phytoplankton, Gymnodinium sp. (type-'65), shows the general characteristics ofthe Dinophyceae, e.g. chloroplasts, mitochondria, golgi bodies and nucleus. This unarmoreddinoflagellate has a cell covering composed of three membranes and many vesicles. A largenumber of vacuoles and lipid bodies occupy the peripheral area of the cytoplasm. The chloroplasts can contain either quasiradial or parallel lamellae,typically consisting of three thylakoidseach. The pyrenoid is multiple-stalked and lacks a starch cap.
