徳之島は、奄美大島の南に位置し、面積約247.77平方キロメートル、周囲およそ80kmである。島の中央に井之川岳（645m）を中心とした山塊と北部に天城岳（533m）を中心とした山塊があり、照葉樹林に覆われている。海岸はサンゴ石灰岩が広く見られる。 3回の調査で、121科406種（シダ植物15科43種、裸子植物5科5種、被子植物双子葉87科292種、被子植物単子葉14科66種）を観察した。 特記すべき植物として、三京のオキナワウラジロガシ、高地のハツシマカンアオイ、アマミフユイチゴ、マメヒサカキがある。 調査日：2012年2月21日～22日　2014年4月5日～6日　2015年1月17日～19日
