The objective of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the "Health and Healthy Living Seminar" that is being conducted at Keio University. The target group included 20 people who attended the first term of the "Health and Healthy Living Seminar" in Academic Year 2011. With regard to the method of analysis, we investigated the number of days the participants exercised during a week, before and after attending the "Health and Healthy Living Seminar." We also compared the group that attended lectures for the first time with the group that had attended lectures in the past. The results are as follows : (1) The number of days the participants exercised was higher than that of the general public. (2) The number of days the participants exercised after attending the lectures increased for 30%, decreased for 40%, and remained unchanged for 30% of the total participants. However, a 63% increase was observed in the number of days the participants exercised in the group that attended lectures for the first time. In contrast, in the group that had attended lectures in the past, it increased for 25%, decreased for 30%, and remained unchanged for 33% of the total participants. With regard to the participants attending the "Health and Healthy Living Seminar" for the first time, it was a good opportunity to increase the number of days they exercised, while for the participants with past experience, the effect of past lectures did not last, and it was thought that some sort of challenge was required.
