Abstract
Marchen refers to epic poems, plays, novels and etc. in the realm of the German literature but now is the popular pronoun of oral literature such as folk or fairy tales. The study was to explore what have characterized Marchen in Europe represented by Germany, Japan and England and how the folk and the fairy tales have been incubated over centuries and formed into the oral literature of today.
