Description
Niigata Rehabilitation Hospital serves specifically as the name indicates, for rehabilitation. The idea to serve as a training center for students from the School of Medical Technology, Niigata University of Health and Welfare and Welfare and some other universities since April 1,2001. Thus, students now will be able to practice their skills under good supervision and further training after their graduation in this hospital. Niigata Rehabilitation Hospital consists of departments for Rehabilitation, Internal medicine, Neurology, Orthopedics, Dentistry and dental surgery. The Hospital employs 6 full time member and 1.5 (calculated for full time) part time doctors, 7 physical therapists, 6 occupational therapists, 2 speech therapists and 3 social workers. Increase of doctors, and further establishment of full time positions for clinical psychologists are expected in April 2002. Wards with 60 beds in A rehabilitation, 60 beds in B rehabilitation and 48 beds in general wards, together 168 beds will remain in operation now. The Hospital will keep close communication with not only nearby hospitals serving acute cases but also with health and special care institutions for the elderly, group homes and support centers. Therefore, Niigata Rehabilitation Hospital aims towards personal training of our students, close communication with our surrounding community, patients and other hospitals to coordinate and aims regional rehabilitation activities. Our motto is good communication and promotion of good working environment for all.
