抄録

Small-scale hydroelectric power generation is one of the promising renewable energy which will help realize sustainable developlnent for the future. Introducing a case in Hokuto city, Yamanashi prefecture, Japan, this paper discusses advantages and isadvantages of the small-scale hydroelectric power generation under the current Japanese social circumstances and find out their meanings from both sustainable energy use and regional developlnent aspects.
