抄録

This article sums up the outline of the symposium whose theme was “Are special needs education and remedial approach helpful for early childhood education?". Manabe pointed out some problems and conflicts which are caused by suddenly introducing special needs education to early childhood education. He argued the importance of bridging a gap between special needs education and traditional holistic care; more concretely, he recommended introducing staff who can mediate their differences. Kawai explained roles and functions of remedial education center in the community, especially pointing out the utility of home-visit services provided by the center. He also insisted that the centers would activate understanding to children with disabilities in the community. Yokoyama argued the problems of exclusive education in many kindergartens, which tends to focus on how to overcome the weaknesses of children with disabilities. Based on the discussion, he demonstrated the importance of facilitating inclusive education. Kato emphasized the significance of early childhood education with individualized manner, which can facilitate the interactive development of children . Oyama argued the importance of early childhood period in terms of promotion of social inclusion, considering the advantages and disadvantages of special needs and remedial education to early childhood education. Based on the discussion, he emphasized the necessity of meaningful education for all children.幼児期の保育において特別支援教育と療育はどのような意味があるかをテーマにシンポジウムを行い、本稿ではその概要をまとめた。真鍋は幼児教育の場に急に障害児教育の論理と方法が導入されたことの問題点を指摘し、保育と特別支援教育とを仲立ちする役割の必要性を指摘した。河合は、療育センターの役割を確認し、家庭訪問アプローチの意義を指摘し、障害理解を担う療育の意義を述べた。横山は、インクルーシブ保育を進める幼稚園長の立場から、多様な子たちを排除する幼児期保育の問題点、個の弱みの克服に焦点を当てがちな特別支援教育・療育の問題点を厳しく指摘した。加藤も幼稚園長の立場から、きめ細やかな保育を基盤に据え、子ども同士の育ち合いを育む保育の意義を強調した。小山は社会的インクルージョンを進める立場から、生涯の中でのインクルーシブな幼児期の意義を強調し、特別支援教育・療育の功罪を踏まえた上でのすべての子どもに意義のある保育の推進を述べた。
