Our daily behavior consists of perception/cognition of the environment and the action towards the environment. Classically, these two processes are assumed to be independent, and action has been regarded as a mere neutral output channel only reflecting the decisions based on the perception of the environment. However, recently emerging view is that these two processes interact with each other, and the perception/cognition of the sensory input can be partly xplained by how one act on the environment. In this article, I will review the logic behind the studies of action-perception coupling.
