説明

Spectroscopic observations of early stage meteor trains were carried out in nearinfrared (750-900 nm) and visible region (375-450 nm) in the Leonids maximum of 2001 in Japan.Around 10 examples were provided excellent meteor train spectra observed with a slitless diffractiongrating speofrograph of a high spectral resolution than before. One example was respectively pickedfrom near infrared spectra and the spectra which near infrared blended with the visible region here. Those spectra were analyzed. In near infrared, the strong band luminescence of 02 atmosphericband (0,1) has been identified as a clear spectrum for the first time. Because 02 atmospheric band(0,1) was identified by all excellent meteor train spectra observed at the same night, 02 atmosphericband (0,1) is the main luminescence in near infrared of the early stage meteor train of Leonids. The photon emission rate of 02 atmospheric band (0,1) has been estimated at 6e+16 photons/m/son average of 4-9 seconds after the meteor appearance. The other remarkable emission lines wereMg (880 nm) and Na (819 nm). The lines or bands of 02, Mg, Na, K, Ca, Si, Fe, OH andmaybe C were present in the near infrared spectrum of the early stage meteor train. The O, Nand ionized Ca, dominant emission lines of a meteor in near infrared, was not detected as clearemission lines. Emission lines of Mg, Fe and Ca were strong in a visible spectrum of the meteortrain. The strongest emission line was Mg (383 nm). In addition, it was a characteristic that the10w excitation line of Fe was strong relatively. The lines of Fe, Mg, Ca, Na, Mn, maybe Al andmaybe ionized Ca were present in the visible spectrum of the early stage meteor train. However, the ionized Ca was not a main contributor. of the meteor train in line intensity being very weak.
