経営組織に対する社会学的アプローチの先駆的成果は,フェイヨリズムに帰すべきであると考えるが,一般に産業社会学はこれに触れたがらない。なぜろうか。まず,フェイヨリズムとは何かを,また,その理論的卓越性を明示し,その現代的意義を正視する。次にここで示された組織の一般原理の中から重要なものをとりあげ,最近になって注目され,主流となりつつあるシステム論的分析視点から,俗に状況随伴モデルと呼ばれている説明理論を提起する。ここでは大局的,総体的に診た経営組織のシステム論的ドリフト性と,第二次産業の主幹企業に照準を当てた状況随伴モデルが,鮮明に吟味される。

The sociologjcal analysis of organization is connected to two main subjects. One is What is the gqeneral principles of organizational construction. And the other is what perspective is or shonld be appropriate for analysing effective management of actual organization. As for the former, we mark Fayolism which is evaluated as a pioneer work of administrative management theory. Industrial sociology has scarcely paid any attention to this work for some reason or other. But in my view, it seems that Fayolism is described as thefirst scientific investigaticn of business organization although it may be beyond your expectation. In reference to the latter, after 1960 we can identify some remarkable trend i.e., systems approach and contingency perspective. These paradigm regards the organization as a subsystem of its environment which is composed of a few primary subsystems. They are goals and values, technology and psycho-social climate. we apply these new one and describe the ralationship between real state of each subsystem and its influence on organization structure. Finally we try to add contingency views on the most important three principles of organizational constuct in post-industrial society. These principles are division of labor, authority and centralization.
