抄録

本稿では､映画『タイタニック』(J.キャメロン) のレトリック分析を行った｡その前提として､映画の中で｢映像の韻律｣を生みだす要素である｢韻としての映像(Image As Rhyme・IAR)｣を措定した｡そして､映画の中に見られる｢手｣の描写がIARの役割を果たし､映画の構造を形づくっているということを明らかにした｡

This paper attempts an analysis of J. Cameron's movie "Titanic." The analysis assumes an image to be a kind of rhyme that produces a rhythm of images in the movie. Thus, image as rhyme figures prominently in the depiction of the human hand, and both forms and clarifies the structure of 'Titanic.'
