Description

This museum was opened on the campus in 1987 as part of the 80th anniversary commemorative project of the school. Since then, with the efforts and support of many people inside and outside the university, we were able to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the museum in 2017, and the steps toward the 40th anniversary have begun. Since the opening of the museum, the number of collections has been increasing year by year and the quality has been improving. Currently, the number of permanent exhibits alone such as mechanical equipment has reached more than 400 in total, large and small. One of feature of our museum is that about 270 machine tools are preserved and exhibited, and about 70% of them is in working condition. This is a major feature not found in another similar museum inside and outside Japan and has been highly evaluated. We are developing a variety of activity to make increase recognition of our museum having many features and to achieve the museum which can be used effectively by many people. In this report, the outline of the activities from 2018 to 2020 will be reported.
