抄録

In the third report the author presents part of a collection of Olympic memorabilia relating to the 1924 Paris Olympic Games. The report includes the All Japan Athletics Olympic Qualifying program, the Olympic official report of the Japanese team, fifteen Paris Olympic official programs brought back from Paris by Shiso Kanakuri, a passport issued to Yoshio Sarumaru, a track and field athlete who had withdrawn due to injurty after being selected for the Japanese team, to enable him to travel to France to watch the Paris Olympics, and the boxing gold medal official diploma of Danish boxer Hans Nielsen along with the original photograph of the Danish Boxing Team. Although the Great Kanto Earthquake struck in September 1923 causing tremendous damage, the Japanese team, which had to overcome many difficulties in the aftermath of the earthquake in order to participate in the Olympics, achieved impressive results which prepared the way for the following Olympic tournament.
