In order to maintain urban management in the face of rapid population decline, it is necessary to promote the creation of a compact city in Nagaoka by consolidating functions in the central city area and the central part of the merged area. However, in the current state of the central urban area, utilization of idle real estate（low unused space） described above is not progressing. For this reason, the practice of renovation and town management is also desired in Nagaoka. In renovation and town management, activities related to design and art are one of the essential contents for utilizing idle real estate. Therefore, we will create a team of faculty members across departments and attempt to develop renovation and town management that is driven by design and art activities in the central urban area of Nagaoka.
