This study aimed to improving the energy-saving performance of the clock-shaped wood stove, I conducted a combustion experiment of the clock-shaped wood stove with a simple secondary burn unit and measured the indoor thermal environment formed at that time. In the case of SBU was used, a slightly lower temperature and slightly higher humidity indoor thermal environment was formed compared to in the case of SBU was not used. And the standard deviation of Tg in the heating time does not show a clear difference between when SBU was used and not used. In the case of SBU was not used, a too hot environment with PMV exceeding +2.00 was often formed, but in the case of SBU was used, the formation of a too hot environment was suppressed. It is considered that the addition of SBU caused secondary burn, and it was possible to sustain the combustion of firewood while suppressing the excessive temperature rise in the combustion chamber of the stove. The effect of reducing firewood consumption during the experimental period of this study was estimated to be 1.85 kg/day, and the annual effect of reducing firewood consumption was estimated to be 277.5 kg. As a result, it is probable that the SBU prototyped in this study showed a certain improvement in energy-saving performance.
