The formation process of the chart of the “Yi ( 易)" Gua qi shuo ( 卦気説), that is the theory of allocating Liu shi si gua ( 六十四掛) to a calendar year, in which Shi er xiao xi gua ( 十二消息卦) are mapped to calendar months was examined using the mechanism of the continuous and cyclic generation of Liu shi si gua. Organizing yao ( 爻) corresponding to Shi er xiao xi gua and the decimal notation together, it became clear that twelve Gua ( 卦) were selected from Liu shi si gua and arranged according to certain rules to form Shi er xiao xi gua. In addition, illustrating the process of generating Gua generated from Kun ( 坤) by selecting only twelve Gua corresponding to Shi er xiao xi gua up to the twelfth generation, all the twelve Gua selected as Shi er xiao xi gua were shown to be continuously generated from Kun through changes in “Yi". Finally, mapping Shi er xiao xi gua to the calendar months, it was found that Shi er xiao xi gua were generated from Kun by the changing of the “Yi" following the order of the calendar months.
