Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between the results of the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) and those of the Rorschach Test, using the Social Cognition and Object Relations Scale (SCORS) (Westen, 1991) and the Comprehensive System (Exner, 2001) to analyze respective results, in the same subject. The subjects of the study were 53 female college students without a history of psychiatric disorder, and the TAT and Rorschach tests were performed at roughly the same time. In the stepwise regression analyses for comparing variables in the Rorschach test and SCORS 4 scores in the TAT, performed using a study by Ackerman et al. (2001) as a reference, a significant correlation was detected between the two tests. It also became clear that the characteristics of the results of the Rorschach test were not always reflected on SCORS scores. This indicates that not only SCORS scores, but also content analysis, should be included in the analysis of TAT. This is a task for future study.
