Abstract

Shoudo Asada was a monk at Gokuraku-ji Temple in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, who built a Western-style main temple influenced by the settlement movement in 1925. It was rebuilt in 1998, but We are investigating the relationship between the Western-style main temple and the settlement using drawings and documents. As a result, Asada was enrolled as a Non-regular Student at Kyoto Imperial University College of Literature and confirmed the contents of the eight subjects. In addition, Asada revealed that he was interested in philosophy and art from the elective subjects.
