Description

We started the investigation on Kusanone Educational Training (hereinafter “Kusanone”) planned by Hokkaido Board of Education (hereinafter "Do-kyo-i") in 2021. We visited three local governments which intended to accept trainees in 2021 in order to interview these superintendents of education. Through visits to and interviews with students and questionnaire surveys from students, we analyzed the attitudes of municipalities to create related populations and the images students have of small schools. From the 2022 academic year, we will conduct research as part of our university's planning project, “Support for Small Schools in Remote Areas and Regional Contribution (Kusanone Educational Training) Promotion Project.” A postevent questionnaire survey was conducted. This paper investigates municipalities' perceptions of community development centered on schools and the development of related populations, and focuses on changes in the awareness of students who were able to actually participate in school experiences at small schools. This study considers the impact of the system on the students.
