Abstract

This Paper examines for Business Economic Theory, made by Gutenberg, E. during his tenure of Köln university (1951-1966). He publisched the books, "Principles of Business Economics", in German, "Grundlagen der Betriebswirtschaftslehre." Volume 1: Produktion, (1951) ＆ Volume 2: Sale, (1955) and "Introduction to Business Economic", in German, "Einführung in die Betriebswirtschaftslehre," (1958). Due to the results of his research, this period (1951-1966) is referred to as the "Gutenberg Paradigm". However, his research stance during this period is rarely examined. This paper examines the third edition of Gutenberg's booklet "Business Economic as Science", in German, "Die Betriebswirtschaftslehre als Wissenschaft," (1967), by discretionaly translation. This booklet was published in 1957, based on a commemorative lecture given at the 600th anniversary of the Köln universiiy, and the third edition was published in 1967, after his retirement.
