Description

Due to advances in medicine, the survival rate of patients with cancer is improving. Various cancers and their treatments can cause infertility. Young patients with cancer may therefore consider fertility preservation prior to undergoing cancer treatment. Decisions must be made about it in a comparatively limited amount of time. Nurses not only provide appropriate information during this time, they also stay close to patients and their families. To relieve anxiety within this short time and to build a relationship of trust, it is important for nurses to approach the mental needs of patients in this situation from various angles according to their individual background.
