At Osaka University's Institute for Higher Education Research and Practice, the Likert scaling method is used on the faculty development questionnaires. This answer scale typically has five levels The assumption is that the distribution between each choice on the scale is equal, but it is not known if this is in fact the case. This study used the method of pair comparison to measure the strength of each choice. The results show a little shift in the weight of the choices such that the agreement side of the scale accounts for over half of the scales weight.
