Abstract

This paper is based on my study of certain diseases which according to Japan's Ministry of Health's classification, are communicable diseases. My subjects were chosen from the O.U.F.S. faculty and students who travelled to various Asian countories between March 1980 and July 1992 either on spring or summer vacations. In my study, I examined 12 patients and studied 11cases which include bacillary dysentery, cholera and typhoid fever. They contacted the diseases while travelling in India, Indonesia, Vietnum and Korea. Eight of the cases were contacted in India. This study attempts to demonstrate that communicable diseases can be prevented.
