Description

Chain stiffness of polymer is of decisively importance for the phase diagram of lyotropic liquid crystal. In this paper, we review the correlation between the chain stiffness and the chemical structures of some rigid polymers, and furthermore, the rationale for the phase diagrams of some polymer-solvent systems. We also introduce some interesting systems having cholesteric liquid crystals.
