In this study, in order to propose a method for diagnosing the deterioration of Oil-immersed transformers using infrared thermometer, we investigated new transformers and old transformers that have deteriorated, and measured surface temperature, environ temperature, and load factor. The investigation method is to measure the surface temperature of the Oil- immersed transformer using an infrared infrared thermometer and perform thermal image analysis to analyze the temperature status of the transformer, which is undergoing deterioration. The current value of the Oil- immersed transformer was measured to confirm the load factor on the transformer, and temperature changes due to load fluctuations were analyzed. The measurement results revealed that Oil- immersed transformers with advanced deterioration have high surface temperatures. It was also found that as the load increases, the surface temperature also increases. These results showed that it is possible to diagnose transformer deterioration using thermal image measurements. If this method is put into practical use, maintenance and inspection work on Oil- immersed transformers will become easier.
