Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to clarify the factors necessary for speech therapists (STs) who work with adults to provide speech-language-hearing therapy to children. Methods: We interviewed 12 individuals: four STs with at least 5 years of clinical experience working with adults (group A), four STs working with adults who provide pediatric speech-language-hearing therapy(group B), and four STs working in pediatric speech-language-hearing therapy (group C). We segmented the interview data to create a co-occurrence network. Results and Discussion: The results of the examination of the content of the co-occurrence network extracted 11 elements, which are similar to the elements of support for compensating for the lack of practice experience in other fields and support for returning to work after a break from practice, and were considered effective from the perspective of lowering barriers for speech-language pathologists working in the adult field to provide pediatric speech-language therapy, as well as from the perspective of learning.
