Description
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of "abandonment anxiety" with attachment and relationship efficacy in bilateral relationships with romantic partners on satisfaction in romantic relationships. A questionnaire survey was conducted with college students with opposite-sex sex partners, and data from 84 students were included in the study. Correlation analysis revealed a significant, negative correlation between the two dimensions of attachment and relationship efficacy. Results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis revealed that the significant main effect of attachment "abandonment anxiety" had a negative influence on satisfaction with romantic relationships, while relationship efficacy had a positive impact on the satisfaction of romantic relationships. In contrast, the effect of the interaction term between attachment "anxiety" and relationship efficacy on satisfaction with romantic relationships was not significant. The results of this study indicate that when the two dimensions of attachment are high, relationship efficacy is low. In addition, relationship efficacy had a stronger positive effect on satisfaction with romantic relationships than self-efficacy. For this reason, this suggests the need to consider relationship efficacy as one of the determinants of satisfaction with romantic relationships. In the future, it is necessary to analyze the influence of environmental factors and paired data in addition to the two-way relationship.
