This text outlines a research approach to analyzing the characteristics and benefits of extensive reading using a digital library, with a focus on learner needs. The analysis is multi-faceted, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data. Key methods include administering level-based vocabulary tests and conducting surveys to assess changes in learners’ mental attitudes toward reading. Additionally, individual student reading activity logs will be examined to explore correlations from various perspectives. The research will analyze and evaluate factors such as changes in test duration, individual test scores, reading speed, reading volume, and mental shifts, with the goal of identifying effective ways to utilize the digital library for extensive reading. Furthermore, the study will investigate changes brought about by modifying reading activities and will compare the results to traditional methods. The ultimate aim is to highlight how digital library-based extensive reading differs from conventional approaches and to provide insights for future learning support strategies.
