Summary: A review of impact cratering processes and the cratering time-scale: the only way of relative dating surfaces of other worlds for which we have no geochemical data. It also covers icy moons - these have similar histories of accretion, differentiation, volcanism and tectonism to the Earth, except that the rigid lithosphere and mobile asthenosphere are made of ice instead of rock. Heat sources are discussed and how individual moons have evolved. This programme finally looks at Venus, showing data from the Magellan mission
