<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Various esters reacted with metallic strontium and alkyl iodides to give dialkylated products, followed by adding acid chlorides or acid anhydrides to afford the corresponding bulky tert-alcohol esters in good yields.</jats:p>
