<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The combination of Grignard reagents with Cu(acac)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> or Cu(acac)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>/ZnI<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> affords new quaternary carbon centers which are constructed by an allylic substitution reaction.</jats:p>
