<p>Oxidative nitroalkylation of β-ketoamides and nitroalkanes, mediated by hypoiodide generated from <italic>tert</italic>-butyl hydrogen peroxide and a catalytic amount of guanidinium iodide, afforded the corresponding α-nitroalkyl-β-ketoamides in up to 97% yield.</p>
