<p> The Pd( <sc>iv</sc> ) species, generated on the surface of Pd@SiO 2 nanocatalysts <italic>via</italic> oxidation with iodobenzene dichloride (PhICl 2 ) or <italic>N</italic> -chlorosuccinimide (NCS), showed high reactivity and superior stability for hydroalkoxylation reactions. </p>
