<jats:p>Discrete binomial and Poisson software reliability models, previously developed by IBM, are presented. They were examined for their validity using historical data provided by RADC from seven development projects. Simulated error data that closely agreed with the model assumptions were also used for validation. The results indicated that the models provide reasonable fits to the historical error data.</jats:p>
