<jats:p>The UCST of phase separation for imidazolium-based ionic liquids [C<jats:sub><jats:italic>n</jats:italic></jats:sub>mim][TFSI] and formamide (FA) binary solutions increases with elongation of the alkyl chain length<jats:italic>n</jats:italic>. This is opposite to previous 1,4-dioxane solutions.</jats:p>
