<jats:p> An <jats:italic>exo</jats:italic> -selective Diels–Alder reaction was predicted by a computational approach and was experimentally confirmed by the combined use of a dual-functional acid catalyst, such as phosphoric acid, and the conformationally restricted dienylcarbamate. </jats:p>
