Remote measurement of viscoelasticity by electro-magnetically spinning system
説明
The remote sensing potential of the Electro-Magnetically Spinning (EMS) method developed for viscosity measurement was investigated. The EMS method can drive the probe rotor immersed in a sample fluid in a non-contact manner through the Lorentz interaction. We determined the driving torque as a function of the distance between the source of the magnetic field and probe rotor, numerically and experimentally, and designed an apparatus having a driving range longer than 30 mm. The temporal change of viscosity of pure water in the cooling process was measured, and the result shows that the accuracy of viscosity measurement is better than 1%.
