<p>Two ultrasmall gold clusters, Au13and Au8, were identified as a distorted<italic>I</italic>hicosahedral Au13and edge-shared “core + 4<italic>exo</italic>” structure Au8S2cores, respectively. They showed interesting luminescence and electrochemical properties.</p>
