説明
This paper summarizes the state of the art of the proprietary A/01 system for biological nutrient removal. The A/0 system is a modified form of the activated sludge process employing an anaerobic zone to promote biological phosphorus removal. Process options discussed include BOD oxidation, biological phosphorus removal, nitrification and denltrification. The biochemical basis for phosphorus removal is reviewed. Results of several pilot studies and a 11400 m3/day demonstration plant operated for 3 years are given.
1A/O is a registered trademark of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA.
