<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Reaction of the two title compounds in a nitrogen‐flushed boiling medium over several days produced a series of cyclobutadiene and trinuclear biscarbyne complexes in addition to the only organic substance, tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)butatriene, formed formally by catalytic dimerization of bis(trimethylsilyl)ethyne. Mechanistic pathways are discussed which might provide the connection between starting materials and products.</jats:p>
