<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>A new copper‐catalyzed sp<jats:sup>3</jats:sup>‐carbon radical/halogen radical cross‐coupling strategy for the formation of C(sp<jats:sup>3</jats:sup>)‐X bond is described. This provides a general method for synthesis of <jats:italic>α</jats:italic>‐halogenated and <jats:italic>α</jats:italic>,<jats:italic>α</jats:italic>‐dihalogenated‐1,3‐dicarbonyl compounds using sodium halides as halogen source under mild conditions.</jats:p>
