<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>Immunoelectron microscopic examinations provided a direct evidence that Staphylcoccus aureus α-toxin, an amphiphilic protein, could penetrate into a monolayer of l-α-dioleoyllecithin prepared on an aqueous subphase containing the toxin.</jats:p>
