<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title> <jats:p>A phosphoranido iridium(III) complex is prepared by the reaction of Cp*IrCl2(PMe3) with lithium phosphoranide generated from a P–H spirophosphorane bearing two 8-oxy-1-naphthyl groups. The complex is thermally converted into metallaphosphacyclo complexes with diastereoselectivity.</jats:p>
